People and fields

In the field editor you decide who signs and where. The document scrolls in one piece, and the tools are ready for each person.

Add people

  1. 1Under "Who signs", click "Add person" and enter a name or a role, such as landlord or client.
  2. 2With "Add e-mail" you store the person's address. They get a personal link when you finalize.
  3. 3The menu next to the person renames or deletes them. Their fields follow a new name and are removed with the person. Deleting happens without a prompt; Undo in the notice bar or Cmd+Z (Windows: Ctrl+Z) brings the person or field back.

Fields for a person

Pick the person next to "For:", then the tool. A click on the document places the field. Drag to move it, the corners change its size.

  • Signature: where the person signs.
  • Initials: the short form of the name, for example at the foot of every page.
  • Date: filled in with the day of signing.
  • Signature and initials are always required.

Copy to other pages

If the PDF has several pages, "Copy to other pages" copies a selected field to the same spot on other pages, all of them or all except the last. That puts the initials on every page, and when signing one entry fills all fields of that person at once.

Fill in yourself

Under "Fill in:" you write something on the document yourself before it goes out.

  • Text: a free entry anywhere on the page.
  • Date: today's date, for example next to place and date.
  • Field: a named entry such as start date. Where it appears several times, one entry changes all of them.

Finalize

"Finalize & Share" sends the document for signing. Beforehand, the side panel shows what it costs: one credit, or nothing with Pro. You then land on the status page.
